The Residents Association work so hard to make sure that the Children & elderly are looked after. Every year they provide a fun day with BBQ, punch & Judy, magic show & crazy golf. There is also a fun Easter egg hunt every year in the woods. Every child in the lane under the age of 11 gets an easter egg & the OAP residents get a friut hamper each (Delivered by the easter bunny!) Santa & His elves visit the Children every year to deliver a Christmas present to all the Children under 11, the OAP christmas lunch is also arranged for the older residents. For the over 11's, there is a youth project provided by the residents association which has a youth bus & arranges days out to bowling, cinema, theme parks & also takes the teenagers on weekend adventure trips (for £5!!) The teenagers are also taken to other local youth clubs. This is all run by a fully qualified youth worker. Bodiam parish also have an anual fun day & bootsale in August, which is always a fantastic day out for all the family. Last year we organsied a weekend camping trip in the summer holidays for the residents which was fantastic & there are plans underway to make this another regular event. You will not be bored in Bodiam!
The lane has close links with the local primary school & last year they held a fantastic spring ball in the grounds of Bodiam castle. The school & residents have also started a school walking bus which is run by fully trained volunteers.The people who live here are wonderfull & I will be very sad to leave them all!
